Subtitle: Things every (oracle)Troubleshooter should know.level: intro + intermediate This ppt will help you to not get lost when troubleshooting a Database problem.We look at Linux and and Oracle (even windows, if you insist).With a few easy to follow demos we will troubleshoot, step by step.You will use linux and SQL, to inspect system, v$, Statspack/AWR, and deeper if needed.Ultimate aim is to have someone else present their resuilts and followup next year…The two key points are : 1) dont get lost in an overkill of data, and 2) Make Sure + Verify that you know what you are looking at. Note that in doing this, we are standing on the shoulders of Giants…Some very smart ppl like Kolk, Shallamer, Millsap, Poder and Koeler have show us what+how, and I am only trying to make their work accessible.

He combines conceptual knowledge and technical know-how with working-experience in small and large organisations, both local and international.He also invests a lot of effort in maintaining a network of Like-Minded database-specialists worldwide and is a regular speaker at international user group events and symposia.Piet likes to Travel, preferably by motorcycle, speaks various languages more or less acceptably, and is alway interested in learning how to say “Dober Dan” and “Hvala” in a few more languages (provided he can learn it on site).
